Milford’s Memoir
By Louis LeClerc de Milford
Copyright 200 by The Narrative Press
Written by Millford around 1800, after he had returned to France. The purpose of the memoir was to convince Napoleon Bonaparte’s government to enter into a treaty with the Creek Nation with Milford as the recognized representative of the Creek Nation.  Milford had lived 20 years in the Creek Nation, from 1775 to about 1795, and was married to McGillivray’s sister.
